Something for the Weekend: Harewood House Food Festival

Yesterday, Cali and I ventured to Harewood House to sample the delights of their food festival.

Cali had such a great time and we’ve both decided we’d like to move in – she has expensive taste! (Having Cali is somewhat like I imagine having a child would be – she’s into everything and very sociable. I’ve started walking her on a harness so I don’t lose her!)

I’m not going to waffle on with this post because Cali and I are heading out for our next big adventure today and we can’t wait to make the most of the bank holiday sunshine!

Details of the food festival here. It runs today and tomorrow. Entry is £10 (seems a little steep but you do get access to the gardens and grounds included in that.)

Dress: (bought from their pop-up shop and seemingly not available online)
Shoes: Primark
Sunglasses: F&F

Introducing Cali

As some of you may have noticed, my blog posts have been few and far between over the past few months. I’ve hinted about the reasons for this once or twice on Instagram, but I thought it was about time I shared the whole story. Brace yourselves for extreme cuteness.

Back in October I brought home a tiny little bundle of joy. And I named her Cali.

I knew owning a puppy would be difficult, especially for someone who is in their mid-twenties and has a full time job. So before I committed to the idea I did a lot of research and made a lot of plans. Most of these went out of the window on the first night…

It was a week before I could get more than a couple of hours sleep at a time, toilet training was a nightmare and there are teeth marks on pretty much everything I own. But I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

By far her best feature is her enthusiasm for life. It doesn’t matter what kind of day it’s been – she always acts like I’ve made hers just by showing up. She is completely in love with the world. She loves to make friends and most people love her back (which is just as well because she’s no manners and a bad habit of getting mud on people’s clothes.)

I plan to write more about her in time but for now here are a few snapshots from her first few weeks in her new home.

Introducing Indi

Last weekend we had another uncommonly good burst of sunshine, so I decided to put my previous troubles with self-shooting behind me and photograph a post on my new ASOS Tall shorts. Unfortunately Indi had other ideas.

I’ve introduced my dogs once before on the blog but Indi is not the sort of girl who likes to be outshone – so after my last post she took matters into her own paws.

You would never know it but Indi is actually a senior citizen. The problem is, in her head she’s still 10 months old, rather than 10 years. We called her Indi after Indiana Jones, and she likes to live up to her name.

Positive Vibes

When I was starting out in TV I worked as a runner on The X-Factor, but I always secretly wanted to work on it’s sister show: Britain’s Got Talent. The X-Factor is great fun but it’s not a patch on BGT.

So for this week’s ‘Positive Vibes’ post I’ve decided to showcase all of the golden buzzer acts from this series ahead of the live shows. The happiness these guys experience when the gold buzzer goes off is infectious. I challenge you not to smile!

My favourite has to be Amanda’s show choir from week 3 – which gets your vote?
